Thomaston Mr. Bruce H. Kamens, 83, passed away on Friday, August 23, at Wolcott Hall in Torrington. He was the husband of Myrna (Lee) Kamens. Mr. Kamens was born in Waterbury on November 18, 1935, son of the late Herbert M. and Elsie (Parke) Kamens. Raised in Terryville he attended local schools and was a graduate of Terryville High School, class of 1953. He attended the University of Connecticut and received his degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Hartford in 1958. He retired from Timex in 1998. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Thomaston and had served on many committees over his 60 year membership. Bruce and Myrna would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 12. In addition to his wife of 59 years, he is survived by one son, Scott W. Kamens and his wife Lynn of Torrington; one daughter, Lisa K. Bunker and her husband Wayne of Torrington; one brother, Wayne A. Kamens and his wife Bonnie of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Mark Robinson, Andrew Robinson and his wife Christine, Daniel Kamens and his wife Karen and Meagan Hoffman and her husband Jeffrey; seven great-grandchildren; two niece and one nephew. He was predeceased by his sister, Muriel Phillips. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston. Burial will be private.
