Plymouth Cornel L. Hudak, 66, passed away on Saturday, January 4, at his home surrounded by his family following a prolonged battle with cancer. He was the husband of Kim (Hardy) Hudak.
Cornel was born in September 1958, in Bristol, son of the late Mary Eva (Porucznick) Hudak. Raised in Thomaston, he attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Pauls High School, Class of 76. He began his career as a long-haul truck driver. After years as an owner-operator and starting a family, he transitioned to driving locally. He recently retired from O&G Industries following decades of service. He was an active member of Teamsters Local 191. He enjoyed walking local trails and all things having to do with vintage trucks and trucking. He was a member of the American Truck Historical Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Clayton Hudak, currently serving at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; one daughter, Tess E. Hudak of Woburn, MA; two sisters, Dawn Nicholson of Fair Haven, MA, and Debra Hudak of Lexington, MA and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 9, at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. Thomaston, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. His burial will be held privately.
