Thomaston- Dennis P. Thurlow, 69, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Donna (Rediker) Thurlow, and father of Sheila Thurlow. Born and raised in Waterbury, Dennis attended local schools. He proudly served his country for 4 years in the Navy. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree and worked as a manufacturing engineer for Alinabal, in Milford, retiring in 2014, and previously had worked as an adjunct professor at Waterbury State Technical College. In 1969, Dennis married the love of his life, Donna, and together they happily shared 48 precious years. Words cannot describe the love Dennis had for his family and the pride he had for caring after them. Dennis was a very generous man, always giving of himself to his family, friends, and his dogs. He treasured everyone he knew. He enjoyed working around the house, and spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandson, Pace. He will be missed deeply by all who knew him. Including his wife, Donna, Dennis is survived by his daughter, Sheila D. Thurlow, of West Hartford; his grandson, Pace Picone; his sister, Beverly Dowling; his brother in law, Wayne Rediker, and his wife, Robin; his sister in law, Robin Giordano, and her husband, Frank; several nieces and nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Thurlow. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12 at St. Anthonys Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Military honors will follow. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dennis name to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
