Elaine G. Kennedy, 68, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in Torringtonsurrounded by her family. Mrs. Kennedy was born in Waterbury on October 29, 1943 a daughter of the late Victor and Germaine (Darchen) Forand. Elaine loved to sing and dance and had also been an active volunteer for the Miss Watertown Pageant. One of her biggest attributes were making people smile and laugh. Her greatest love was her familyand friends. She leaves a son, Brian Kennedy and his wife Tammie of Thomaston; two grandchildren, Shawn and Aaron Kennedy of Thomaston; a brother, Richard Forand of Waterbury; and her former husband, Medard Kennedy. The funeral will leave on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston and proceed to the Shrine of St. Anne, 515 S. Main St., Waterbury for a Mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
