Northfield Mr. Francis Anthony Lowell, 81, passed away on June 16, in Myrtle Beach. He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Lutz) Lowell. Francis was born August 11, 1937 in Hartford, son of the late Lyle C. and Anise (Currier) Lowell. Raised in East Hartford, he attended local schools. He had live in Northfield for 45 years and had retired to Myrtle Beach, SC. He had been active in the Boy Scouts of America and had served as troop leader of Troop 31 in Litchfield. He enjoyed model trains and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his wife he is survived by, two sons, Daniel F. Lowell and his wife Bridget of Norwich and Christopher P. Lowell and his wife Elizabeth of Gainesville, VA; one daughter, Dawn L. Plourde and her husband John of Montville; and six grandchildren, Mark Plourde and his wife Victoria, Timothy Plourde and his wife Shoko, Daniel Lowell, Alexandria Lowell, Meghan Plourde and Ryan Lowell. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will follow in the Northfield Cemetery.
