Waterbury- Mr. Guy D. Spangenberg, 79, died Saturday evening, June 16, at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (Swan) Spangenberg.
Mr. Spangenberg was born February 4, 1933 in Waymart, Pennsylvania, son of the late Raymond and Ersula (Carpenter) Spangenberg. He had served honorably in the United States Army from March 19, 1953 until June of 1955. He retired from the Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Robert Spangenberg and Dean Spangenberg both of Waterbury and Paul Spangenberg of OH; two daughters, Jill Burmester of MO and Melissa McLaughlin of NY; one sister, Lenore Tonkin of PA; six grandchildren, Shannon Burmester, Mathew Cloney, Haley Burmester, Andrew Spangenberg, Jessie Spangenberg and Addison Spangenberg and two great grandchildren, Tristan Cloney and Trace Riddick.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, June 21, at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston, 34 East Main St. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 20, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
