Bristol- Mr. Harold E. Roberts, 83, died Monday morning, November 29, at Ingraham Manor.
Mr. Roberts was born June 22, 1927 in Waterbury son of the late James and Lillian (Leigh) Roberts. Harold was raised in Thomaston until the age of ten when his family moved to Bristol and had attended local schools. He had served honorably in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, serving as an airplane mechanic in Okinawa. He had been employed at General Motors in Bristol for over 40 years and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #626. He had volunteered at the Connecticut Valley Hospital and the Elmcrest Institution for many years.
He is survived by one son, James Roberts of Franklin, TN; four daughters, Jean Gladding of Willis, VA, Linda Nappi of Lutz, FL, Sylvia Joska of Orlando, FL and Marie Lacroix of Peru, ME; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph and Frederick Roberts.
Arrangements: A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, December 3, at 2:00 P.M. at the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. Friends may call at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High Street Thomaston from 12:45 P.M. until time to leave in procession for the cemetery at 1:45 P.M.
