Obituary

Lake George, NY Mr. Henry P. Klimanoski, 85, formerly of Thomaston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 17, in Northfield surrounded by family after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of 42 years of Darlene D. (Conlon) Klimanoski. Henry was born May 1, 1938, in Terryville, son of the late Henry and Pauline (Zalaski) Klimanoski. Raised in Terryville, he attended local schools and was a graduate of Terryville High School, class of 1956 and then attended the Porter School of Tool Design. He had been employed as a mechanical engineer at the former Tech Systems in Thomaston for 33 years and then at Micro Tech in Cheshire for 13 years, retiring in 2005. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Luzietti of Milford and Lynne Masi and her husband Christopher of Plymouth; five step-children, Dawn Miller and her husband Kevin of Greenwich, NY, Corky Curtiss and her husband Jimmer of Hyannis, MA, Kirk T. Sanford, Jr and his wife Michele of Watertown, Michael Sanford and his wife Michelle of Northfield, and DJ Sanford of Thomaston; twelve grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis, Ace, Nicole, Josh, Kyle, Breanna, Logan, Lynzie, Alex, Ashlie and Jake; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Ellie and many nieces and nephews. Among his many interests he enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, building and flying model planes with The Nutmeg Flyers, bowling in a weekly league, and making music. First, as a trumpet player in various polka bands and then as a bass player in Senior Sounds, with whom he played at local convalescent homes and senior centers. Of course, his greatest love was spending time with his family, especially at the annual clam bake and Oktoberfest celebrations. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
