Thomaston - Mr. John Russ, 67, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Geri (Alexander) Russ. John was born August 18, 1945 in Waterbury, son of the late John and Loretta (Barnell) Russ. A longtime resident of Thomaston, he worked as an independent general contractor before retiring from Lowes Home Improvement following many years of service. Besides his wife, Geri, John is survived by his two daughters, Kristen Pikula and her husband, Joseph, of Burlington, and Nicole Russ and her husband, Tom Messer, of Griffin, Georgia; two brothers, Timothy Russ, of Torrington, and Robert Russ, of Pensacola, Florida, and one sister; Beverly Michalowski and her husband, Al, of Torrington. He was predeceased by one sister, Loretta Beringer. All funeral services are private. There are no calling hours.
