Leonard Peter Rogozinski passed away peacefully at his residence on the 17th of June.
He was born on July 7th nearly 83 years ago in Thomaston, Connecticut to Joseph and Mary (Borowski) Rogozinski.
Leonard grew up in Thomaston and joined the United States Air Force in 1951 where he served for four years during the Korean War. Leonard married Mildred Helen Little in 1954 on the U.S. Air Force base in Limestone, Maine. They were happily married for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Mary Rogozinski and two brothers;
Richard Rogozinski and Ronald Rogozinski.
Leonard is survived by his wife; Mildred Helen of Plantsville, Connecticut, his son Craig (Lisa) Rogozinski of Hancock, New Hampshire, two daughters; Tina Gandhi of New York, New York and Michele (Howard Davidoff) London of Great Neck, New York, two sisters; Eleanor Chizinski of Thomaston, Connecticut, Irene (Victor) Maslak of Thomaston, Connecticut, two brothers; Bernard (Shirley) Rogozinski of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Peter (Jennifer) Rogozinski of Farmington, Connecticut, three very special grandchildren; Hailey Rogozinski, Jayant Gandhi, Lucas Curcio and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service, followed by a military funeral honors ceremony will be held at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St, Thomaston, Connecticut on Wednesday, June 24th at 12:00pm.
The family will be greeting friends and relatives prior to the service beginning at 10am.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Chicago, IL 60611.
