Thomaston Mr. Michael S. Bruscino, 81, passed away on Thursday morning, July
6, at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra (McNamee) Bruscino.
Mike was born January 14, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Michael and
Marie (Camperchioli) Bruscino. He graduated from Thomaston High School and
from the University of Connecticut School of Engineering. He began his working
career at General Motors in Trenton, NJ. He then accepted a position at Pratt and
Whitney where he worked writing technical and service manuals for aircraft
engines. Mike stayed with Pratt for the next 30 years until retiring in 1997. He
then worked as the Treasurer for the Town of Thomaston. He was also on the
Thomaston Zoning Board of Appeals and the Finance Board for St. Thomas School.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Railroad Museum of New
England and the Train Collectors Association. He was an avid fisherman and
loved spending time with family and friends at his home in Marthas Vineyard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepmother, Margaret (Shea)
Bruscino; one son, Michael S. Bruscino of Thomaston; one daughter, Teri Flaherty
and her husband Michael of Thomaston; one sister, Georgine Lyons of Plymouth;
three grandchildren, Shane Flaherty, Micaela Flaherty and Michael J. Bruscino and
several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with Mikes family on Tuesday morning, July 11, from 8:00 A.M.
until 10:00 A.M at Lyons Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at
St. Thomas Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be private.
