Thomaston - Mr. Michael William Curry, Sr., 76, died peacefully on Saturday, October 5, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Esther "Dee" (Ackermann) Curry.
Mr. Curry was born October 26, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Frederick and Gertrude (McCaffrey) Curry. He had retired from the Archdiocese of Hartford Cemetery Association. Mr. Curry had served honorably in the United States Army 82nd Airborne and had been a member of the former VFW Post 572 in Thomaston.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his five children, John R. Curry and his wife Kim, Debbie Gaudiosi and her husband Jimmy, Kim Lavergne and her husband John, Michael W. Curry, Jr and Bryan P. Curry all of Thomaston; nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph McCaffrey and Frederick Curry.
Inurnment with full military honors will take place on Friday, October 11, at the mausoleum at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown at 11:00 A.M. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening, October 9, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St., Thomaston.
