Thomaston- Mr. Richard C. Johnson, 74, died Thursday, May 12, at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia (Dusak) Dickey Johnson.
Richard was born August 13, 1936 in High Gate, Vermont son of the late Gordon and Ida (Clapper) Johnson. He was raised and attended schools in Vermont and moved to Connecticut in 1963. He had worked at Plume and Atwood and for local construction companies for many years. He served honorably in the United States Army, was a life member of the Liederkranz, was an avid hunter and fisherman and was active for many years in many local mens softball leagues.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Richard and John Johnson; two step sons, Jeffrey Rinaldi and Mark Dickey; three granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Michael Johnson and two brothers, Gordon and Robert Johnson.
Arrangements: A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 17, at 1:00 P.M. at the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home of Thomaston.
