Torrington- Mr. Richard Saucier, Jr, 52, formerly of Thomaston, died Wednesday, April 9, at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.
Richard was born November 14, 1961 in Fort Kent, Maine son of Richard Saucier, Sr. of Terryville and the late Bernice Blair Grey. Richard was raised in Fort Kent and attended local schools, he moved to New York and eventually settled in Thomaston. He had served honorably in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, was a car enthusiast and loved NASCAR.
He will be remembered as a big dreamer and fulfilled one of those dreams by owning a hot dog cart, eventually owning and operating three. He was a terrific story teller and loved history. He had a strong love of animals and often brought home strays, but not always dogs or cats, sometimes any animal he thought was in need of love.
He is survived by his three daughters, Megan Caron of Thomaston, Paige Saucier of Bristol and her fianc Garrett Hill of Bristol and Erica Saucier of Thomaston; 3 brothers, Donald of Torrington, Ross of Bristol and Wayne of NY; 3 sisters, Holly Chandler of Thomaston , Doreen Gallagher of Waterbury and Laurie-Ann Saucier of FL; his step-mother; Susan Saucier; 4 grandchildren, Alayna, Marley, Ayva and Vincent and many nieces and nephews.
