Thomaston- Mr. Richard R. Weeks, Sr, 86 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Mr. Weeks was born in Northfield on April 30, 1927, son of the late Treadwell and Elizabeth (Osborn) Weeks. A lifelong resident of Thomaston, he attended local schools. He retired from Plume and Atwood in 1989 after more than 40 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and enjoyed golf and camping. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy (Williams) Weeks; two sons, Richard Weeks, Jr and his wife Diane of Thomaston and Thomas Weeks of Campton, NH; four brothers, Burt Weeks of Northfield, Arthur, Walter and Henry Weeks all of Delaware; two sisters, Elizabeth Newton of Torrington and Marjorie Voshell of Delaware and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Donald Weeks. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 2, at 11:00 A.M. at the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
