Thomaston - Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Nevers, Sr., passed away on Tuesday, July 19, at Vitas Innovative Hospice Care at St. Marys Hospital in Waterbury. He was the husband of Rosemary K. (Smith) Nevers. Bob was born in Waterbury on May 11, 1941, son of the late Peter P. and Genevieve (Laukaitis) Nevers. Raised in Southbury, Bob moved to Thomaston in 1966 when he married his loving wife Rosemary. He had served honorably in the United States Air Force. He had been employed as a truck driver for D A Lubricants and then went on to start his own business in small engine repair. In addition to his wife of 50 years he is survived by two sons, Robert J. Nevers, Jr of Unionville and Ryan P. Nevers and his wife Sarah of Thomaston; one daughter, Ronda M. Hannon of Thomaston; one sister, Rita Cabral of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, James Hannon, Madison Nevers and Cayden Nevers and one nephew, Avery Cabral. He was predeceased by his nephew Aaron Cabral. The family would like to thank the staff of Vitas Hospice for the love and care shown to Bob. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 22, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to K9s for Warriors 114 Camp K9 Road Ponte Verda, FL 32081.
