Thomaston Mr. Steven V. LaBianco, 74, formerly of Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, June 16, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Anne (Piekarski) LaBianco.
Steven was born July 6, 1949 in Yonkers, NY, son of the late Vito and Doris (Horvath) LaBianco. For over thirty years Steven had worked as a senior loss control consultant for the Hartford Insurance Company, retiring in 2014. Steven still maintained many friendships with colleagues made during his time with The Hartford. He will be remembered for his love of telling stories.
A lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a currently a member of the Knights of Columbus Atlantic Council 18 in Thomaston, was a member of the Friends of the Thomaston Public Library, the Thomaston Photography Club, the Scarsdale Elks and enjoyed serving as an usher at the Warner Theater in Torrington and the Thomaston Opera House with his wife Anne. He was also very active in The Boy Scouts of America with troop 370.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Scott S. LaBianco and his wife Robin of Sandy Hook and Jeffrey J. LaBianco of Chandler, AZ; two brothers, Robert LaBianco of Pulaski, VA and Richard LaBianco of Lanexa, VA; two grandchildren, James and Sarah LaBianco and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with Stevens family on Thursday morning, June 20, from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at the Lyons funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Stevens name to the Knights of Columbus Council 18 Scholarship Fund C/O Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston, CT 06787.
