Plymouth- Mr. Vincent J. Zdanis, Sr., 90, died Friday, January 28, at Cook Willow Convalescent Home. He was the husband of Ruth (Buzas) Zdanis.
Mr. Zdanis was born July 8, 1920 in Waterbury son of the late William and Catherine Zdanis. He had served honorably in U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked as an industrial engineer for many years, working for several aerospace companies. A former member of the Power Squadron in Waterbury, he had served two terms as Commander. He received a diploma from the University of Connecticut as a master gardener, loved to travel, enjoyed boating and photography was his favorite hobby.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three grandchildren, Vincent J. Zdanis, III, John Zdanis and Jacquelyn Zdanis; one great granddaughter, Harley Zdanis and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Vincent J. Zdanis, Jr and two sisters.
Ruth would like to thank Susan McDonald and the Staff of Cook Willow for the excellent care her husband, Vincent, received while a resident.
Arrangements: A calling hour will be held on Sunday, January 30, at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Burial in West Cemetery, Plymouth, will be in the spring.
