Thomaston- Mr. William J. Keegan, 72, of Green Manor, died Monday, January 23, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. William was born April 1, 1939 in Bristol son of the late Francis and Edna (Purdy) Keegan, the youngest of five boys, John, George, Andrew, Francis "Sonny" and William. He was most interested in history, especially the life of and times of his grandfather, George Washington Purdy, who was a Civil War veteran. He leaves his sister, Rosemary Devino; two nieces, Kathleen Devino and Doreen Duncan and four great nieces and nephews, Paul, Janelle, Chris and Brenna Duncan. In addition to his parents and brothers he was predeceased by his stepfather Mickey Postic who loved and cared for him for 35 years and his best friend Bridget Dennis and then he befriended her daughter Kathy Britton. Arrangements: All funeral services are private. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
