Litchfield- Mrs. Alice (Balch) Remeika, 83, passed away on Thursday morning, January 26. She was the widow of Joseph G. Remeika, Sr.
Mrs. Remeika was born August 23, 1928 in Morris daughter of the late Arthur H. and Edith Mae (Woodward) Balch. Alice had worked at Seth Thomas Clock in Thomaston and then worked on the family farm for many years. She had been an active member of the Beacon Grange in Northfield and a former member of the Northfield Congregational Church.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph G. Remeika, Jr of Columbus, MO, Alan E. Remeika of Litchfield and Ronald E. Remeika of Northfield; two daughters, Mary Jane Johnson of Woodbury and Karen Jones of Torrington; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Frank E. Balch.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Kimberly Wadhams officiating. Burial will be in the spring. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
