Thomaston- Mrs. Anna (Melnick) Kuibeda, 97, beloved wife of 64 years to the late Michael Kuibeda, Sr, passed into Heaven on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Mrs. Kuibeda was born in Waterbury on April 27, 1915, daughter of the late Frederick and Tatiana Melnick. She was educated in Waterbury schools and worked at Scovill Manufacturing and several Waterbury companies. Mrs. Kuibeda was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church of Terryville and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and listening to polka music. She always looked forward to family gatherings. She leaves her children, Theresa K. Filippone and her husband Robert of Waterbury, her son Michael Kuibeda, Jr and his wife Gertrude of Waterbury, her daughter Mary Platt of Woodbury and her son John Kuibeda and his wife Margaret of Torrington; her grandchildren, Carol Pelletier, Michael and Susan Filippone, Michael III, James and Trudianne Kuibeda, Robert, David and Donald Platt and Marianne Aquilar; her great-grandchildren, Stephen and Christine Pelletier, James Kuibeda, Jr and Tyler Galgano. She was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and John Melnick of Oakville. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Apple Rehabilitation in Watertown for their care and compassion during her stay there. Arrangements: All funeral services will be private.
