Thomaston Barbara J. (Swasey) Peck, 74, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024. She was the wife of the late Jack Peck, for 33 years. Barbara was born in Waterbury, on February 18, 1950, daughter of the late Albert and Rosemary (Fusco) Swasey. She was a graduate of Kennedy High School. For over 30 years, Barbara maintained a dedicated volunteer role in the Boy Scouts throughout the area, and also in Camp Mattatuck, where she made many dear friends along the way. She enjoyed baking, Christmas cookies in particular, which she took great pleasure in passing out to her beloved family and friends. Left to cherish Barbaras memory are her son, Brian Peck, and his wife, Julia Marie (Rubbo) Peck, of Naugatuck; and three other children of Jacks, Susan (Peck) Gandelli; Barbara Peck; and Jacqueline Peck; two siblings, Marianne Mailhot; and Richard Swasey, and his wife, Lisa; her grandchildren, whom she cherished deeply, Julian, Angelina, Angelo, and Jack; as well as grandchildren of Jacks whom she loved just as much, Marijane, Aubrey, Devon, Colleen, and Shawn, and several great-grandchildren, her niece and nephew, Becky Sowa, and her husband, Brian; and Richard Swasey; and several cousins and extended family as well as many close friends. Including her beloved husband, Jack, Barbara was predeceased by Jacks son, John Peck; her nephew, James Sparano; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Mailhot. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 16 from 2 to 4 at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High Street, Thomaston. Burial will be held at a later date.
