Plymouth- Mrs. Betty H. (Hakanson) Clark, 90, died Monday evening, April 22, at her daughters home in Harwinton. She was the widow of L. Fred Clark.
Mrs. Clark was born August 19, 1922 in Plymouth, daughter of the late Hilding and Hilda (Olsen) Hakanson. She was a graduate of Terryville High School and had been employed at Seth Thomas Clock Company for 24 years until the factories closing. She was an active member of the Plymouth Congregational Church and was very involved in the warmth project, knitting countless pairs of mittens and hats.
She is survived by her son, Peter H. Clark and his wife Pat of Arizona; her daughter, Kathy C. Clark and her husband George Lutz of Harwinton; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Clark, Jennifer Wallace and Kristopher Clark Lutz and one niece. She was predeceased by her sister, Elsa Suckley and her brother Karl Hakanson.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the VNS of Connecticut and especially to Edith Kwakyewah for the loving care they provided to Betty.
Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5, at 1:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bettys name to the Plymouth Congregational Church P.O. Box 293 Plymouth, CT 06782 to be used for the Sunday School.
