Terryville- Mrs. Christine A. (Cova) Bishop, 63, died Friday, July 23, at the UConn Health Center in Farmington.
Christine was born October 20, 1946 in New Britain daughter of Manuel and Madeline (Vontel) Cova of Bristol. She was raised in New Britain by her grandmother and moved to Thomaston at the age of 16. She had been employed as a hairdresser for 30 years and most recently was the owner of the Hair Gallery in Thomaston. She will be remembered for her generosity, sense of humor and hard work. Christine loved gardening, Rhode Island beaches and above all else loved her family and the time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is survived by one son, Steven P. Bishop and his wife Lauren of Winsted; three daughters, Kim A. Duffany and her husband Tom of Northfield, Carole A. Rossignol of Bristol and Sandy A. Bishop of Bristol; two brothers, Bill Cova of Bristol and Richard Cova of Terryville; one sister, Alice Bordner of Thomaston; seven grandchildren, Samantha Rossignol, Kayla Rossignol, Kristine Curtiss, Megan Rossignol, Donald Curtiss; Chantel Langer and Thomas Duffany and several nieces and nephews and her former husband Roy Bishop. She was predeceased by two brothers, David and John Cova.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, at 12:00 P.M. at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery in Bristol. Calling hours are Monday, July 26, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
