Thomaston- Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" (Sherwin) Chamberlin passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 5, surrounded by her family. She was born in Wilbraham, MA on June 18, 1928 daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude E. (Ricard) Sherwin. Dot had been employed at O-Z Gedney, Thomaston Special Products, the Torrington Co and her last place of employment was at the Fernwood Rest Home in Litchfield, she retired in 1987. She loved life, her family, her animals and nature. She was always ready to travel and made friends throughout her life. She always had a sunny smile for everyone and was known as "Mom" and "Gram" too many and friends too numerous to count. She was a member of Eagle Rock Church and loved the Lord and to sing His praises. She is survived by her six children, Walter Chamberlin and his wife Linda of Sherburne, NY, JoAnn VanSickle and her husband Charles of Grayling, MI, Robert Chamberlin and his wife Betty of Thomaston, Karen Turner and her husband Jim of Thomaston, Linda Volovski and her husband Mark of Thomaston and Donna Severson and her companion James Harrison of Thomaston; her brother, Russell Sherwin and his family of Hampton, FL; her grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Jamie, Penny, Joe, Matt, Spencer, Amanda, Shane, Russell, Amy, Jessica, Jennifer, Andrew, Eric, Michele, Sean and Delina; 26 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her son, Chuck, her infant brother and her companion Don Monroe. Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 9, at 11:00 A.M. at the Eagle Rock Church, Reynolds Bridge Rd., Thomaston. Burial will be on Friday at 12:00 P.M. at the Adams Cemetery in Wilbraham, MA. Calling hours are Wednesday, February 8, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
