Thomaston - Mrs. Dorothy J. (Knights) White, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Richard A. White. Dorothy was born February 24, 1927, in Hartford, the daughter of the late Roy S. and Lillian (Gill) Knights. A longtime resident of Thomaston, she was employed at Eclipse Glass for many years before her retirement. She was an avid bingo player, loved baking and her friends at QVC will miss her dearly. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Roy D. White, of Benton, Maine, Richard A. White Jr. and his wife Jane of Torrington, and David A. White and his wife Susan of Thomaston; one brother, Allen Knights, of Albion, Maine; two sisters, Catherine Parks, of North Carolina, and Beverly Dickson, of Norwich, Maine; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23, at 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until the time of service.
