Thomaston- Mrs. Eleanor "Winnie" (Miles) Grabherr, 96, died Sunday morning, February 13, at Cook-Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth. She was the widow of Theodore Oscar Grabherr.
Mrs. Grabherr was born February 13, 1915 in Litchfield daughter of the late Albert E. and Eleanor C. (Reeves) Miles. Raised in Litchfield she had attended local schools and was a graduate of Litchfield High School class of 1934. For 21 years she had been employed at Thomaston Special Products, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Thomaston Seniors and St. Peter Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one son, former Chief of the Thomaston Police Department, Edward T. Grabherr and his wife Marianne of Thomaston; one daughter, Linda Chandon and her husband Richard of Thomaston; one sister, Jean Scanlon of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Michael Grabherr, Brian Grabherr, Kevin Chandon and Christine Dyball; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Reginald, William, John and Allen Miles and one sister, Lillian Bertaccini.
Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on May 14, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter Trinity Episcopal Church, Main St. Thomaston. Burial in Hillside Cemetery will be private.
