Thomaston- Mrs. Elizabeth (Baserwski) Astyk, 89, died Saturday, January 10, at Cook-Willow Convalescent Home. She was the widow of John Astyk. Mrs. Astyk was born November 20, 1925 in Thomaston, daughter of the late John and Bertha Baserwski. She was a lifelong resident of Thomaston and a graduate of Thomaston High School. She is survived by four nieces, Geraldine Lofthus, Dorothea Sargent, Catherine Gura and Kathleen Henderson. She was predeceased by her siblings, Sophie Swairn, Helen Klimovitch, Michael Baserwski and Anne Borowski. Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 17, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in the spring in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral 46 High St. Thomaston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomaston Volunteer Ambulance Association South Main St. Thomaston, CT 06787.
