Southbury (formerly of Northfield) - Mrs. Gwendolyn J. Kuykendall, 89, died on Wednesday, April 13, at the Hearth in Southbury. She was the widow of George W. Kuykendall. Gwendolyn was born December 23, 1926 in New York, daughter of the late Bernardo and Clara (Persans) Pilger. In 1971 Gwendolyn and her husband George moved from Long Island to Northfield. Over the years she had worked for Zero Check in Northfield, at the White Flower Farm in Litchfield and Eastern Photo/Nimslo in Thomaston. She was a member of the Valley Vagabonds Walking Group and the Audubon Society. She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially the joy she found in feeding the many birds on her property. She is survived by her son, Marcus J. Kuykendall of Rochester, NY; her granddaughter, Candace Kuykendall; her daughter-in-laws, Valerie Kuykendall and Susan Selgren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Victor G. Kuykendall and her siblings. Arrangements: All services are private.
