Thomaston - Hazel Mae (Johnson) Cook-Aleman, 91, a resident of Thomaston, passed away on October 14, 2015.
Hazel was born in Burrville, CT, daughter of the late Frederick and Georgianna Johnson. She was predeceased by two brothers, Gothard (Chick) Johnson and Frederick (Dudley) Johnson. Hazel was the wife of the late George Franklin Cook III, of Thomaston, who passed away in 1987.
Together they raised 11 children, George, Alice, Catherine, Robert, Lillian, Helen, Clarence, Gerard, Charlotte, Paula, and Georgianna. She also has 34 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Hazel was employed at the Seth Thomas Clock Co. and the Eclipse Glass Co. After George passed away, Hazel re-married to Edward Aleman of NY, who passed away in 2006. Hazel also leaves behind many good and kind friends at the Thomaston Valley Village where she lived for nine years. Hazel was a lovely, caring, tenacious lady that provided for her family in so many ways and will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. Family and friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
