Thomaston- Mrs. Helen (Monahan) DuPont, 82, died on Monday, September 29, at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the wife of Roger A. DuPont, Sr.
Mrs. DuPont was born July 21, 1932 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Michael and Julia (Real) Monahan. Helen was raised in Thomaston and is a lifelong resident. She had been employed by the Town of Thomaston for 33 years. She was proud of her Irish heritage and will be remembered for her quick wit.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Roger A. DuPont, Jr and his wife Cathy of Thomaston; her daughter, Sharon Pronovost and her husband Randy of Thomaston; her son-in-law, Michael Philipp of Bristol; her six grandchildren, Michael Philipp and his wife Kristin, Ryan Philipp and his fianc Leah Smith, Meghan, Abigail Helen and Mitchell DuPont and Brendan Pronovost and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Michele Philipp and her siblings, James, Matthew, John, Thomas, Katherine and Mary.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 2, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 3, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol.
