Terryville- Mrs. Helen A. (Recklaitis) Perbeck, 78, died Wednesday, December 26, at the Bristol Hospital. She was the widow of Walter J. Perbeck, Sr.
Mrs. Perbeck was born June 29, 1934 in Bristol, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Lakavitch) Recklaitis. She was a longtime resident of Thomaston and was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. She will be remembered for her love of cooking and shopping. She was a loving mother and grandmother who raised a wonderful family.
She is survived by one son, Walter J. Perbeck, Jr of ME; three daughters, Heidi H. Smith and her husband David of Thomaston, Carol P. Cody and her husband Kevin of Thomaston and Paula J. Ruiz and her husband Jose of GA; one sister, Bernice Bowden of Bristol; nine grandchildren, Amy Babcock, Chad Perbeck, Casey Cody, Brett Cody, Bridgett Smith, George Smith, Joshua Padilla, Zachary Padilla and Andrea Padilla; one great-granddaughter, Elise Babcock and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Daniel C. Perbeck and two brothers, William and Anthony Recklaitis.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 31, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
