Thomaston Mrs. Jill M. (Coss) Rosa, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 24, at her home. She was the widow of Richard D. Rosa.
Jill was born June 7, 1939, in Waterbury, daughter of the late William F. Sr and Gertrude (Meredith) Coss. Raised in Waterbury, she attended local schools and as a child she lived in the caretakers house at Hamilton Park, which her father managed and enjoyed visiting the zoo. She had been employed for many years at Naugatuck Valley Medical and the Waterbury Hospital as an x-ray technician and medical assistant and volunteered with the Red Cross. She had also worked a s school nurse in the Thomaston Public schools.
She is survived by one, Richard D. Rosa, Jr and his partner, Debbie Reis of Enfield; two daughters, Catherine Mascetti and her husband Michael of Torrington and Jill L. Pellegrino of Thomaston; one brother, William F. Coss, Jr of Waterbury; one sister, Virginia Hawley of Waterbury; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ann R. Balducci.
Friends may visit with Jills family on Saturday, February 8, from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A prayer service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
