Obituary

Thomaston Joan (Mellor) Jackson, 89, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, at her home. She was the widow of Ronald Jackson. Joan was born April 24, 1928 in Feltham, Middlesex, United Kingdom, daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Croft) Mellor. Raised outside of London, she was a graduate of the London Academy of Music. After marrying Ronald and starting their family they immigrated to the United States in 1968, settling in Thomaston. She had been a longtime volunteer at the Railroad Museum of New England in Thomaston. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Marcoux of Thomaston; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Jackson and her daughter, Susan Sansom. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 25, at 2:00 P.M. at the Beacon Baptist Church 200 Elm St, Thomaston. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Joans name to the Railroad Museum of New England P.O.
