Joan Marilyn (Welton) Krasnowski Thomaston Joan Marilyn Krasnowski, 90, of Thomaston passed away on April 8, 2025 at her home surrounded by family. She was the wife of Alfred Krasnowski. Joan was born on May 14, 1934, daughter of the late Carlos and Virginia (Lord) Welton. She attended the Thomaston School System. Graduated from the Waterbury Hospital School of nursing. Joan worked as a nurse at several hospitals, and nursing homes. She worked as a nurse and in the office of Dr. Hamzy in Waterbury where she finally retired. Joan loved spending her summers on Deer Island in NB Canada for years with her husband and family. She loved to read, do jigsaw puzzles, cook for her family, and baked the best blueberry and apple pies. Joan leaves behind three sons, John and his wife Krissy, David and his wife Antoinette, and Bill and his wife Liz; her niece Debra Melvin, and niece Lynn LaPiere; and the following grandchildren: Steven, Rob, Dylan, Liam, Elyse, Tena, Rhiannon, Tyler, and Katie. She was predeceased by her sister (and best friend) Virginia (Welton) Valaitis. Family and friends may call on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. A funeral home service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
