Northfield- Mrs. Josephine J. (Richards) Curtiss, 96, of Newton Road, died in her home on Saturday, March 26, with her family by her side. She was the widow of Roger F. Curtiss, Sr. Mrs. Curtiss was born in Litchfield on June 1, 1914 daughter of the late Carter and Florence (Houghtaling) Richards. She was a lifelong resident of Northfield and was an avid gardener and enjoyed bird watching. She is survived by three sons, Roger F. Curtiss, Jr of Harwinton, Jerry B. Curtiss of Northfield and Roy A. Curtiss of Northfield; two daughters, Alice A. Magnarella of Cheshire and Marie Hernandez of Tampa, FL; one sister, Alice Didsbury of Thomaston; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements: A graveside service will be held at the Northfield Cemetery, Knifeshop Road, on Wednesday, March 30, at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. David Rockness officiating.
