Torrington Mrs. Judith M. (Stankavich) Hoyt, 81, passed away on Sunday morning, August 25, at Valerie Manor in Torrington. She was the widow of Terry G. Hoyt.
Judith was born November 27, 1942, in Waterbury, daughter of the late George and Olive (Meyer) Stankavich. She will be remembered for love of trips to the casino, shopping, vacations in Old Orchard Beach with her best friend Alice, traveling, and most of all her family. Judith never missed an opportunity to dance to Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger and would never be seen without a sequins blouse. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Jerome G. Hoyt and his wife Charise of Terryville, Timothy W. Hoyt and his wife Ana of FL and Wendy K. Kirschner and her husband Matthew of Torrington; her grandchildren, Chaz, Laura, Zara, Jerome II, Jacob, Cody and RJ; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Randy G. Hoyt; her granddaughter, Breanna Hoyt and her brother, Jerome Stankavich.
The family would like to thank the staff of Valerie Manor, Meadow View Unit, for the loving care given to Judith.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 30, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the Hillside Cemetery in Thomaston.
