Thomaston- Mrs. Linda (Schaffrick) Nield, 62, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, at Cook Willow Convalescent Home in Plymouth. She was the widow of Robert E. Nield, Sr.
Linda was born June 15, 1948 in Bristol daughter of the late Oscar and Stefanie (Burke) Schaffrick. She was raised in Bristol and attended local schools. In 1971 she married Robert E. Nield and in 1977 they moved with their young family to Thomaston. Most recently Linda was working at the Torrington Elks Lodge. Linda will be remembered for her love of animals, the enjoyment she found in painting and drawing and most especially the joy she had in spending time with her family.
Linda is survived by her son, Adam Nield of Thomaston; her daughter, Heather Nield of Thomaston; three step-sons, Robert Nield, Jr of Waterbury, Jeffrey Nield of Colebrook and Daniel Nield of Aston, PA; her brother, Leonard Schaffrick and his wife Jane of Burlington; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and her faithful dog, Sunny.
Arrangements: All services are private. Burial in Hillside Cemetery will be private.
