Thomaston- Mrs. Margaret E. (Cook) Hubbard, 84, died Thursday morning, April 19, at Wolcott Hall in Torrington. She was the widow of Francis A. Hubbard.
Mrs. Hubbard was born July 22, 1927 in Thomaston daughter of the late Harry S. and Olive (Alker) Cook. Raised in Thomaston she attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School class of 1944. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston; she had served as a trustee and was a member and treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, baking and quilting.
She is survived by two sons, Richard Hubbard of Thomaston and William Hubbard and his wife Heather of Woodbury; four daughters, Elizabeth Bancroft and her husband Rollan of Miami, FL, Shirley Patrick and her husband David of Salina, Kansas, Marion Hubbard of Thomaston and Joyce Springfield of Thomaston; one brother, Harold Cook of Terryville; nine grandchildren, Daniel, Stephen, and Kathryn Patrick, Jocelyn Springfield, Shalane, Charlotte and Adrian Fox and Liam and Ian Hubbard; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Albert Cook.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, April 21, at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are this evening (Friday) from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
