Thomaston - Mrs. Mary L. (Callahan) Ouellette, 69, of Thomaston, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at Bristol Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Ouellette. Mary was born on Dec. 11, 1943 in Waterbury, daughter of the late George Callahan Sr., and Mary (Shreiner) Callahan Johnson. She was a longtime citizen of Thomason, graduating from Thomaston High School. Mary worked for the Torrington Company retiring after many years of service. Mary was an avid crossword and word search player, loved spending time outside on her swing reading and cherished the time she spent with her family. Mary is survived by her two sons; Joseph Ouellette, and his wife Daniela, of Thomaston, Jeffrey Ouellette, and his wife Beth, of Plymouth; her daughter, Sabra Scaglione, and her husband Joe, of Wolcott, one brother; George Callahan and his wife Sandy, of Bristol, three sisters; Barbara Olivero of Thomaston, Gail Neri, of Mesa, AZ, Shirley Westover and her husband Richard "Buzzy," of Plantsville, a brother in law; Edwin Sylvain, of Southington, four dearly loved grandchildren; Daniel Ouellette, Matthew and Nicholas Scaglione, and Collin Shoults, her lifelong friend; Marcia Matthews, and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Mary is predeceased by her sister, Ruth Braque, and her grandson, Joseph J. Ouellette III. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May. 31, at St. Thomas Church, 19 Electric Ave. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Thomaston. Calling hours are on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation in Marys name be made to the Thomaston Fire Department, 245 S.
