Thomaston Mrs. Mary (Tamosaitis) Rosa, 90, passed away at Waterbury Hospital on Friday, September 7, surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Joseph F. Rosa. Mary was born December 21, 1927 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Felix and Suzanna (Rachas) Tamosaitis. Raised in Oxford she was a graduate of Seymour High School and went on to graduate from the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing. She had been employed as a registered nurse in pediatrics at the Waterbury Hospital, retiring in 1977. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, an avid bingo player and loved her trips to the casino. She is survived by one son, Stephen R. Rosa and his wife Elizabeth of Terryville; two daughters, Joanne Costick and her husband Raymond of Terryville and Diane Pagano and her husband Gerald of Bristol; six grandchildren, Lauren, Pamela, Robert, Amy, Justin and Sarah; nine great-grandchildren, Jonas, Xander, Mae, Aiden, Levi, Jordan, Jovie, Christian and Savannah and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Ronald J. Rosa. The family would like to thank the Vitas Hospice Team and the staff at Waterbury Hospital for the care given to their Mother. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 13, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. There are no calling hours. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will be private.
