Thomaston- Mrs. Mildred "Millie" (Czyz) Belonick, 88, passed away Monday evening, January 9, surrounded by her family at Rose Haven in Litchfield after a long and courageous battle with cancer and a period of declining health. She now journeys to her heavenly garden to be with our Lord and to join her late husband and love of her life Tony. Millie was born on October 22, 1923 and retired from Iseli Manufacturing as the secretary to the president. She leaves behind her daughter Christine of Boca Raton, FL and her son John and his wife Janice of Terryville. Millie was a loving and devoted "Babcia" to Christopher, Matthew, Dawn and Melissa, her grandchildren and the loves of her life. She is survived by her sister Theresa Wisniewski and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Kuskoski. She leaves behind for us all a legacy of independence, strength, courage and determination. The family wishes to express our thanks and gratitude to Dr. Bowen and his loving and caring staff who helped carry us through these difficult years. We also express gratitude to the Rose haven staff and many friends who supported us through this journey. Arrangements: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 13, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, January 12, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
