Thomaston- Mrs. Mildred (Skerstonas) Chepulis, 87, died Thursday morning, December 9, at St. Marys Hospital in Waterbury. She was the widow of George B. Chepulis.
Mrs. Chepulis was born September 17, 1923 in Thomaston daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Tomaisitis) Skerstonas. Mildred was raised in Thomaston and was a graduate of Thomaston High School. She had worked at Seth Thomas Clock and at Howland and Hughes in Waterbury until the closing of the store. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and loved gardening.
She is survived by her son, James T. Chepulis and his wife Pamela of Thomaston; one sister, Isabelle Schwarze of Plainville; one grandson, Stephen J. Chepulis and his wife Kim of Waterbury; one great grandson Jason S. Chepulis and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Peter C. Chepulis, two brothers, George and Albert Skerstonas and one sister, Della Snieckus.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 11, at 12:30 P.M. at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time to leave for mass at 12:15 P.M.
