Northfield - Mrs. Myrtle (Hulme) Walker, 94, of Northfield, passed away on Thursday evening, June 13, 2013 at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the widow of Mr. Warren Walker.
Myrtle was born on April 18, 1919 in Thomaston, daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Allen) Hulme. Attending local schools, she was a graduate of Thomaston High School. She was a longtime member of the Northfield Congregational Church and Northfield Womens Fellowship where she set up many of the annual Church suppers. Myrtle was also a member of the Beacon Grange #118 in Northfield for 60 years. She loved gardening, her flowers and the time she was able to spend with her family.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Janet Lundon and her husband Pat, of Thomaston; two sons, Warren Walker, Jr. and James Walker, both of Thomaston; two grandchildren, Nancy Walker and Marcia Vance; two great grandchildren, Caelyn and Jessica Vance, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Almira Bunnell, Eva Hellerich, Helen Walker and Annie Mason; and one brother, Ralph Hulme.
Arrangements: Funeral Service will be held Monday evening, June 17 at 7:00 pm at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston. Family and friends may call from 5:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
