Plymouth Mrs. Nancy L. (VanDemark) Daddona, 86, passed away on Friday, August 2, at Cook Willow Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Louis P. Daddona, Sr.
Nancy was born July 23, 1938, in Waterbury, CT, daughter of late H. Douglas and Helen (Lovejoy) VanDemark. She loved traveling throughout New England and had many fond memories of growing up in Rhode Island and spending summers in Maine.
A registered nurse for over 50 years, Nancy loved taking care of others. She finished her career as a school nurse and retired in 2013 from Algonquin Elementary in Prospect.
Nancy loved watching and cheering for the UCONN Mens and Womens basketball teams. With her husband, she traveled across the United States and Europe. Quick with a song and a story, Nancy enjoyed poetry and fine arts and attended shows at The Palace theater, as well as various art exhibits at the Fine Arts Museum in Boston, MA.
More than anything else, Nancy loved her family the most.
She is survived by three sons, Louis P. Daddona Jr and his wife Sandra of Thomaston, Richard M. Daddona and his wife Marie of Thomaston and Robert E. Daddona of Plymouth; her brother, Douglas VanDemark of Plainfield, IN; two grandchildren, Julie Kindstedt and her husband Andrew of Tolland and Richard M. Daddona, Jr and his wife Rachel of Shelton; her great-granddaughter, Alyssa Ann Daddona, and her great-grandson, Joseph Louis Daddona, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Mark Edward Daddona
Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery will be private.
