Thomaston - Mrs. Patricia A. (McCarthy) McMahon, 79, died Wednesday, November 9, at St. Marys Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of Eugene McMahon.
Mrs. McMahon was born August 25, 1932 in Waterbury daughter of the late Dennis and Helena (Whelan) McCarthy. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate and Valedictorian at Waterbury Catholic High School class of 1950 and was graduate of Post Junior College. She had been employed at the MacDermid Incorporated in Waterbury and then the Connecticut Carbide Die Company in Thomaston. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, Paul McMahon and his wife Maureen of Thomaston, Dennis McMahon and his wife Rose of Torrington and Robert McMahon and his wife Sue of Bristol; her sister, Denise Sullivan of Waterbury; her son-in-law, Richard Belonick of Terryville; nine grandchildren, Owen, Luke, Jack, Kelly, Michael, Sean and Molly McMahon and Amy and Matthew Belonick and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Jeanne M. Belonick and three sons, Martin, Edward and Thomas McMahon; one brother, Jack McCarthy and one sister, Rita Murphy.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, November 12, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, November 11, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston.
