Northfield- Mrs. Phyllis (Turberg) Nicholson, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, at her daughters home. She was the widow of Ronald G. Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson was born April 19, 1921 in Thomaston, daughter of the late Walter and Gladys (Mayland) Turberg. She had a love for books, especially cook books and will be remembered for her wonderful baking. Surviving her are her son, Darryl Nicholson and his wife Janet and her daughter Ronda Pregno and her husband Danny all of Northfield; a sister, Beverly Nyman of Old Saybrook; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Thomaston. Burial will be in the spring in the Northfield Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lyons Funeral Home of Thomaston.
