Thomaston- Mrs. Rosemary V. (Clapp) Schlicher, 86, died Saturday morning, November 13, at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Roy W. Schlicher, Sr and Carroll Estes.
Mrs. Schlicher was born February 11, 1924 in Waterbury. She had worked as an inspector at Tyler Automatics in Thomaston and retired as a machine operator from Thomaston Mid Town Screw. She was a member of the Thomaston Seniors and had volunteered at the Bargain Shop.
Rosemary will be remembered by her family and many friends as someone who enjoyed meeting new people and getting to know them. She always found a way to bring out a smile and a laugh in any situation and was a great story teller of the many things that had occurred in her life. She will be missed for her caring ways and friendly smile and the wisdom in her conversation. She had enjoyed gardening, attending tag sales and was an animal lover.
Rosemary is survived by four sons, Joseph Schlicher of Waterbury, David N. Schlicher of Plymouth, Donald C. Schlicher of Thomaston and Robert P. Schlicher and his wife Della of Grand Isle, ME; three daughters, Lorraine Farrar of Torrington, Karen Schlicher of Thomaston and Rosemary I. Schlicher of Plymouth and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Roy W. Schlicher, Jr.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, at 10:00 A.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home 46 High St. Thomaston. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, November 15, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
