Obituary

Thomaston Mrs. Ruth A. (Parson) Lundberg, 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, at the Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton, CT. She was the widow of Arnold E. Lundberg. Ruth was born June 13, 1936 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Herbert and Alma (Kay) Parson. Raised in Thomaston, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Thomaston High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Ruth was an artist professionally, adding color to black and white portraits. She was a musician, devoted to many local churches where she served faithfully as organist and choir director. Ruth was invaluable to many in her Secretarial and Administrative Assistant roles, the most recent being at Bristol-Meyers Squibb. She loved, baking, sewing, gardening and reading. But above everything, Mom enjoyed time with family on 'The Farm'. She is survived by three daughters, Norma L. Kryzanowski and her husband Bill of Thomaston, Nancy E. Vigeant and her husband Dennis of Thomaston and Britta L. Anderson and her husband Kevin of Simsbury; one brother, George Parson of Thomaston and one sister, Karen Anticoli of Torrington; (predeceased by brother, Herbert Parson of Thomaston); nine grandchildren, Christina, Philip, Hannah, Hilary, Lars, Larissa, Haley, Brandon and Gunnar; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, Austin, Luke, Kersta, Noah, Theodor, Elin and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 17, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St. Thomaston. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the Covenant Church, 64 Grove St. Thomaston with a light luncheon to follow. Memorial donations may be made online to covchurchthomaston.org or to the Alzheimers Association at act.alz.org.
