Torrington - Ruth Vivian (Booth) Vigeant, of Torrington, CT passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 15th, 2019 at the age of 90 with her children and grandchildren by her side. She was born October 26th, 1928 to Nathan and Evelyn Higgins Booth in Waterbury, CT. Ruth lived with her parents, one sister and two brothers on a farm in Watertown, CT until her marriage to Eugene W. Vigeant on November 20th, 1928. Ruth graduated from Watertown High School in 1947. After graduating High School, Ruth moved to Northfield, CT where she resided with her husband and children for more than 40 years. Ruth is survived by her six children, Cathy Hearn of Dolgeville, NY, Patricia & Chris Silano of Torrington, CT, David Vigeant of Litchfield, CT, Tom & Colleen Vigeant of Falls Village, CT, Gary & Stacie Vigeant of Fairfield, CT and Gregg & Sophie Vigeant of Silver Spring, MD. Six grandchildren and Five great grandchildren. Edward Booth (wife Marcy) and Nathan Booth Jr. (and wife Trudy). She was predeceased by her husband Eugene, her sister Fay Norton. Ruths greatest pleasure was making others happy. She enjoyed spending time with children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and creating greeting cards for special occasions. Ruths family wishes to thank the physicians and nurses at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, as well as the staff at Litchfield Woods and Wolcott Hall for their excellent care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston on Thursday, August 22 at 11:00 A.M. Burial at Northfield Cemetery will immediately follow. In memory of Ruth, donations can be made to the Northfield Volunteer Fire Department.
